With a core mandate of ensuring access to the best evidence-based medicines for Canadians, BMC's patient representatives are actively involved in discussions on a range of relevant issues. The broad topic of limited patient access to treatments is a central concern, as are the related issues of the effectiveness of the Common Drug Review and the development of an equitable and effective National Pharmaceuticals Strategy. Drug review reform, patient safety, direct-to-consumer advertising and international trade issues are addressed.
